Discover the district Aurora
At the intersection of several roads in Turin, Aurora was born as a working district. In the Middle Ages, in fact, thanks to the proximity to the Dora and the canals derived from it, several factories with water wheels were established, followed by mills, tanneries, silk factories, and other industries over the centuries.
Today, starting from the transformation of the large industrial dismissed building of Lavazza, now its headquarters, the district has a radically new image, where degradation is replaced by excellence, abandonment from events, culture, and business. The IAAD (Institute of Applied Art and Design) has brought new “creatives” to the district and a walk around already shows signs of change with the transformation of homes and industrial spaces to welcome new inhabitants and new ways of living and working. Line 2 of the Metro will also arrive here, shortening the distances from the rest of the city, without however erasing historical places of an identity of hospitality built in the last half-century, and that still breathes among the market stalls of Piazza Foroni.
A lively and dynamic place that has started to collect more and more interest, from possible inhabitants, entrepreneurs but also real estate developers.
